To contribute to the representation of domestic workers in the labour sector whilst providing a platform for Zimbabwean domestic workers to rally together, dialogue and organize their efforts towards making a meaningful contribution to national policy and to exchange ideas on best practices in the domestic workers industry.
To create a platform to recognise the domestic workers industry, to increase the visibility of domestic workers, give them a voice in the public space and to facilitate balanced and effective peer and employer review within the industry by having a consolidated database of domestic workers.
To formulate, facilitate and deliver capacity building, complimentary training, skills development and empowerment programs, through trainings and workshops which will support efforts towards formalization of domestic work.
The Domestic Workers Association of Zimbabwe (DWAZ) is a membership-based network of Zimbabwean domestic workers in Zimbabwe and outside. The plight of domestic workers is one which has received very little attention and intervention. That no custom tailored interventions had been developed and implemented in the domestic work sector stands evidence to the marginalization and exclusion of this important group of workers across the globe.
